The story, featuring the first voiced protagonist in a GTA game, follows Tommy Vercetti, a member of the Forelli mafia who, after being released from prison in Liberty City, is sent down to Vice City by his boss, in order to start "business operations" there. While compared to San Andreas the map doesn't feel as large (it's a single city with no rural/countryside areas), it still feels very much alive, and again, the choice of '80s Miami as the inspiration leads to a beautiful looking city. Obviously inspired by Miami, and not just any Miami, but an '80s Miami, Vice City is a city full of charm, fancy shirts and pastel colours.

Still, being the game that actually introduced me to the GTA franchise, it deserves a review.Īnyway, Vice City, while not my favourite GTA game (that honour goes to San Andreas), is still a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good game, and certainly the one with my favourite setting. I can't believe I've never reviewed this game before, I was going to check my old GTA reviews to draw some inspiration from my GTA III review, and I noticed there was no review for this one, only for San Andreas.
